I stumbled into an art studio in Lakewood Ranch, FL a few years ago where they gave watercolor classes and ponied up for two sessions. I enjoyed it so much that I bought a set of paints and tried my hand for a bit. Time went by and I put it all away until recently. I had forgotten how relaxing it is to simply sit down and paint something. Time disappears and sometimes... every once in a while, I actually create something I really like and can put on the refrigerator!

Momma passed away on Thanksgiving morning, November 23, 2023. She loved cardinals and whenever she saw one, she always said it was a passed loved one coming to visit. I look for them every day...
This is my second attempt at using acrylic paints. I royally screwed up the first attempt, but hey, you live and learn, right? This time I wanted to do an ocean scene at night, so I picked one of my all-time favorite mammals, the humpback whale. I hope you like it. Specifications Title: Whale Song Artist: D. I'm revisiting this lonely teddy bear sitting unused on a ledge, this time in color, to convey how every parent feels when their child outgrows the home and moves on. It's always bittersweet, I think... the mind swirling around the times when they were just so small and dependent on you for everything. Then, seemingly without warning, they grow away, and Poof!, they're gone. This image haunted me when I first saw it, and it took me a minute to figure out why. Then, of course, when it hit me, I had to paint the little fella.
